Pulmonology Nurse Practitioner

The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) is seeking a nurse practitioner or physician s associate to join our Pulmonary and Critical Care team at the Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC), an award-winning Level II Trauma Center. With over 30 medical specialties, ANMC serves as the tertiary referral center for Alaska Native and American Indian people across the state. Working in collaboration with our 5 physicians and four nurse practitioners you will help cover a 22 bed closed CCU and 7 bed step down unit on our medical center campus. Responsibilities include : completing comprehensive histories and physical exams; ordering and interpreting tests; prescribing medications; developing treatment plans; and educating patients / families on treatment options.

Work Schedule : Full Time Monday through Sunday; 12-hour day shifts, 7a 7p, no on-call required.

Qualifications : Master s Degree in Nursing; Certification as a Family Medicine or Adult / Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by an approved national certifying body; Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certification; State of Alaska Advanced Practice Nurse License. Preferred 2 to 5 years post-graduate experience as a nurse practitioner managing Pulmonary and Critical Care patients; genuine interest in critical care, astute clinical skills; superior communication and relationship building skills; flexible team player; culturally sensitive.
