Quality Technician

Temp to Perm

Location : Frostproof, FL

Job Summary :

The Quality Technician must be well-organized, focused on deadlines, and a self-starter capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment. They should have exceptional attention to detail; be proficient in reading, writing, understanding, and speaking English; and be capable of handling raw ingredients. This role will actively participate in the Company’s Food Safety and Quality program, production processes, some receiving tasks, and the facility’s long-term and short-term objectives. Teamwork is crucial for this position. Daily inspections of production equipment and products are conducted to ensure that the highest standards are achieved and upheld. Established procedures are followed to rectify any deficiencies to comply with food safety and quality standards.

  • Conducts evaluations on both in-process and completed products, as well as R&D samples, to verify compliance with specifications.
  • Makes decisions to accept or reject incoming raw materials and pre-shipment samples based on predetermined criteria.
  • Holds defective products in accordance with established procedures.
  • Addresses and reports on defect-related issues.
  • Collaborates with other departments to share testing outcomes.
  • Review analytical test results and production parameters.
  • Perform appropriate line control to assure compliance to standards.
  • Perform incoming material analysis, batch mixes, and verify component levels in finished mixes.
  • Inform appropriate personnel of non-conforming results.
  • Is active in coaching and guiding the production workforce to adhere to highest level of Food Safety and Food Quality.
  • Supports plant operations as necessary.
  • Evaluation of questionable ingredients and finished products.
  • Oversee production lines to ensure production efficiency and food safety.
  • Data collection of production, quality and efficiency.
  • Maintain and update IMS lists.
  • Assists in facility inspections and audits.
  • Assists in all GMP implementation.
  • Raw product sampling and analysis.
  • Finished product sampling and analysis.
  • Additional responsibilities may be delegated to by the direct supervisor or another supervisor.

Required Skills / Abilities / Education :

  • Able to operate a computer and lab equipment.
  • Able to operate scales / weighing equipment.
  • Able to perform validation tests on products.
  • Able to perform visual and sensory inspections on products and equipment.
