About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Shift : 12-Hour Nights

Hours per Shift : Varying start times : 3 PM, 5 PM, 7 PM

Experience : Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Room / Trauma Level 1 experience required

License : Current nursing license required

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS

Must-Have : Flexibility to work all listed shifts, pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of receiving the offer, and complete competency testing for moderate conscious sedation.

Description :

The Emergency Room is comprised of 60 beds, including 14 fast-track beds.

Bedside triage is utilized.

A charge nurse and unit secretary are present for support.

Ratios for patient care are 1 nurse to 3-4 patients.

Paramedics can assist with IV starts and provide tech duties.

There is a 24 / 7 respiratory therapy team available.

Medications are managed by a pharmacy team, with an ER pharmacist available during the day.

Common diagnoses include trauma, motor vehicle accidents, gunshot wounds, blunt trauma, strokes, heart attacks, and high-risk obstetric cases.

The department typically sees 80,000 visits per year.

Lab draws are performed as routine unless central line access is necessary.

The facility is designated as a chest pain center and certified stroke center.

Candidates must be able to float between designated emergency room locations.

Minimum transition and floating requirements may apply.

Weekend shifts are required, with at least four shifts per schedule period.

Workers must also participate in two of three holidays during the holiday season.
