Lead mechanic maintenance, repairing, and keeping in consistent working order all golf course equipment involved in the golf course maintenance department as directed.

Report to the Superintendent.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Lead the implementation of preventive maintenance programs for all equipment on inventory in the golf maintenance operation.
• As directed, repairs and maintains all golf maintenance equipment.
• Maintain the mechanics work area and company tools in a clean, well-organized, safe and secure manner.
• Assist with maintaining adequate inventory levels of petroleum products, replacement parts, and shop supplies as established by the Golf Course Superintendent.
• Advise supervisor on capital equipment addition or replacement needs.
• Be responsible for all required documentation relating to equipment repairs and purchasing replacement parts as directed.
• Assist in training grounds staff on proper and safe operation of maintenance equipment.
• Responsible for seeing that daily assignments are completed in the respective areas, to meet Club standards and as communicated expectations (ie no trash / debris on course, etc.).
• Assist fellow Employees, Members and guests to ensure delivery of the 3 steps of service without being directed. Be aware of team members and the environment and participate as a member of the team.
• Notify supervisor of Member / Guest complaints.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Excellent verbal communication skills.

Ability to communicate and work well with fellow employees and other departments.

Maintain a presentable appearance, behavior and manner at all times. Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Bilingual : English & Spanish preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Sitting, standing, walking, driving, exposure to temperature changes, dust, fumes, or gases, squatting / kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing / pulling, twisting / bending, lifting / carrying / pushing / pulling up to 100 lbs. on occasion, folding / unfolding, talking, hearing, and seeing.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Working outside and inside the resort. The ability to work exposed to heat, sunlight, rain, and cold. I might work daylight or nighttime hours. Working with cleaning equipment and chemicals depending on the task.
