We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Body Shop Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong automotive knowledge and excellent customer service skills. As a Body Shop Estimator, you will be responsible for assessing vehicle damage, preparing repair estimates, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the repair process. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and sales acumen to effectively communicate with customers and manage their expectations.
- Duties
- Evaluate damaged vehicles to determine the extent of repairs needed.
- Prepare accurate and detailed repair estimates using industry-standard software.
- Communicate with customers regarding their vehicle’s condition, repair options, and costs.
- Align estimates with the necessary parts and labor required for repairs.
- Transmit estimates to insurance companies as needed for approval.
- Collaborate with mechanics to ensure all repairs are completed to high standards, including oil changes, brake repairs, and other automotive diagnostics.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, invoices, and customer interactions.
- Provide exceptional customer service to enhance client satisfaction and foster repeat business.
- Qualifications
- Previous experience in automotive sales or as a mechanic is preferred.
- Strong understanding of automotive repair processes including suspension systems, brake repair, and general diagnostics.
- Excellent cash handling skills for processing payments accurately.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information to customers in an understandable manner.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
- Proficient in using estimating software and tools related to body shop operations.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
