Test Engineer – EMC
DEKRA Certification Inc. is looking for an EMC Test Engineer to perform Electromagnetic Compatibility and Radio Frequency testing.
What You'll Do
- Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment by actively participating, taking responsibility, and following established procedures and policies.
- Apply standard engineering principles for product evaluation and testing.
- Perform Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Radio Frequency (RF) testing specifically.
- Review pre-evaluation documents to understand objectives of assignment prior to start of service.
- Perform satisfactory EMC and RF testing in accordance with Regulatory Standards requirements.
- Analyze test data and generate test data sheets.
- Create client deliverables in the form of test reports, letter reports, and certification reports.
- Communicate test report results effectively with customers.
- Work in the field / on-site at client facilities as required.
- Interface directly with internal and external clients.
- Conduct routine operation, maintenance, calibration, qualification, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
- Assist in development, writing, review, and validation of test methods, laboratory SOPs, and other department level operating and quality documents.
- Assist in investigation of, response to, and follow-up of client inquiries and complaints.
- Coordinate with laboratory engineers, technicians and / or assistants on sample receiving, logging, pre-treatment, preparation, testing and other tasks.
- Conduct multiple projects within tight deadlines.
- Other tasks and duties may be assigned to meet project and / or business needs.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field plus minimum 2-year working experience in EMC industry. Master's Degree is Preferred.Ability and flexibility to work on shifts as assigned.Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation skills. Must work well as a team, and across multiple cultures.Strong analytical skills while handling multiple projects, delivering results on time using well developed logical problem-solving skills.Customer focused.High level of professionalism and the ability to work autonomously.Pro-active attitude and excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail.Able to read, comprehend, interpret and apply the requirements of test standards to various types of products.Maintain adequate knowledge of technology relating to the position.Computer & Math Skills. Windows-based computer programs including MS Word, Excel, and Access. Engineering level math.Good technical / mechanical skills / aptitude.Physical Considerations
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard reach, stoop kneel to install computer equipment.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.Light to moderate lifting is required.Travel Considerations
Travel domestic and / or overseas up to 25% of the time, including overnight stays.Compensation
The base pay for this position is $75,000 annually to $85,000 annually. Actual pay is based on several factors including market location and position-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
