Solid Waste Worker
The Town of Front Royal is seeking a Solid Waste Worker to join our Public Works Department. Solid Waste Workers perform manual labor picking up trash and recycling materials from residential homes and business locations and are essential in keeping our community clean. Individuals in this position are required to work in all adverse weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, snow, ice and rain. Must be able to ride on the back of a moving truck. The starting pay is $18.03 / hourly without a CDL and $18.93 / hourly with a CDL.

Collect municipal solid waste, recyclables and large item collections
Drive a sanitation truck and other trash collection equipment
Move cans or containers placed for collection and dumps into trucks and operate packer equipment
Clean area around recycle ramp
Direct traffic and guides truck operator in congested areas
Pick up limbs, leaves and other yard waste
Clean refuse truck and equipment regularly
Assist with sorting and processing recyclable materials
Assist with snow and ice removal
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements :
Education : High School diploma / GEDValid Virginia driver's licenseClass B CDL with air brakes endorsement within six (6) months of employmentQualifications :
