Summary

Responsible for assisting in preparing and cooking food items in specific sections or stations within the kitchen.

Essential Functions

• Prepare and cook food items according to standardized recipes portion sizes and quality standards.
• Assist at a specific station or section within the kitchen such as grill sauté pantry or pastry.
• Utilize a variety of cooking techniques such as grilling frying baking roasting and sautéing to prepare dishes.
• Assist in the execution of menu items ensuring that dishes are prepared accurately consistently and with attention to detail.
• Follow proper food safety and sanitation practices to ensure a clean and hygienic working environment.
• Keep workstations equipment and utensils clean organized and sanitized.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent required and Trade / Technical / Vocational Diploma Culinary Arts preferred
