Job Description

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity is for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) to provide early childhood intervention services in a preschool setting. The position is a contract role covering the next school year and is based in Piqua, OH.

The caseload will include approximately 40 preschool students across 12 classrooms, each providing 24 therapy sessions. The setting serves a diverse group of children, many with significant needs : about 140 children have Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including 50 students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder Levels 2 and 3, and around 50 non-speaking children. Several students receive feeding therapy outside of school.

Sessions are scheduled Monday through Thursday, with a push-in model of service delivery. The caseload will include a mix of complex cases (heavy hitters) and articulation-only clients. The team currently has two openings to fill. Candidates with either CCCs or Clinical Fellow (CF) status are encouraged to apply, as they will join a supportive and collaborative staff.

Key qualifications and experience :

  • Valid Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or Clinical Fellow Experience
  • Experience working with preschool-aged children, particularly in early intervention
  • Ability to manage a caseload with a range of speech-language needs including autism and non-verbal communication
  • Skill in providing push-in therapy services within a classroom setting
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work within a multidisciplinary team

This contract role offers the chance to serve a diverse and dynamic population while working alongside experienced professionals in a supportive environment. Candidates who meet these qualifications and are interested in this rewarding opportunity to make a difference in early childhood development are encouraged to apply.
