Diagnostic Imaging Specialist
Our diagnostic imaging specialist team is responsible for performing x-ray scans of patients' internal anatomy to aid physicians in diagnosing illnesses, diseases, or injuries. The role requires interacting with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of our organization.
Key Responsibilities :
- Appropriately positions radiographic equipment or x-ray film to produce images with necessary detail or contrast in order to assist with diagnosis and treatment.
- Explains radiographic procedure to the patient, obtains complete and accurate history relevant to the examination to being performed.
- Communicate effectively with the patient.
- Provides staff and patient protection in accordance with prescribed radiation safety standards, including placement of shields / aprons in order to limit radiation exposure.
- Implements and monitors local, state and national regulations, standards, requirements and clinical protocols for radiologic imaging services.
- Maintains x-ray equipment by performing scheduled cleaning / tests and documents results.
- Maintains and updates patient and study information to ensure billing and RIS / PACS accuracy; handles patient records while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Performs other related technologist duties as directed by the lead technologist, supervisor or manager, including those related to quality assurance and / or control.
- Responsible for maintaining continuing education required for licenses and job positions
Minimum Qualifications :
Graduate of an approved American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) program or current validated Registry from ARRT in Radiology Technology (R). ARRT (R), (CT) Preferred.Competencies :
