Collections Agent / Customer Service

We currently have a full time opening for a Credit Resolutions Specialist. If you have the ability to provide a high level of customer service to our internal and external members and have knowledge of collection procedures and laws, we would like to hear from you.

COLLECTIONS AGENT PRIMARY FUNCTION :

You will perform collections activities associated with delinquent accounts and other collection based activities, including but not limited to determining probable cause of delinquency and various methods of contact and communication with members to resolve delinquencies. As well as, communicating with credit union staff.

COLLECTIONS AGENT RESPONSIBILITIES :

Establishing early contact with members on delinquent accounts to make payment arrangements and informing members of potential legal actions on loan status.

Utilizing human relations and negotiation skills while making agreements for resolution of past due balances in the best interest of the credit union and member circumstances.

Performing skip tracing, filing departmental materials and other administrative tasks as required.

Posting payments, keeping accurate and current activity reports on late, potentially late and delinquent loans.

Assisting with preparation of documents for repossessions, collection agencies and legal action; including claims for bankruptcy and further maintenance.

Other duties as needed; including but not limited to, documenting all collections activities performed, maintaining confidentiality, researching problems for possible resolution, remaining informed and in compliance with security procedures, attending and participating in meetings and other duties as directed by management.

COLLECTION AGENT POSITION REQUIREMENTS :

• High School Diploma or equivalent and Bondability required.
• Knowledge of collection procedures and current federal / state related laws & regulations.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with members, staff and management.
• Typing and keyboard skills with knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Windows based programs.
• Financial institution background and knowledge regarding bankruptcies and small claims court preferred.
