Job Title : Manufacturing Mechanic 2nd Shift

Location : Central Islip, NY

Schedule : 2nd Shift | 3 : 00 PM 11 : 30 PM

Employment Type : Full-Time, Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Compensation : $18.72 $26.00 per hour (based on experience)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Mechanic to join our team on the 2nd shift. The mechanic will be responsible for repairing, maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting processing equipment to ensure smooth production operations in compliance with cGMP and SOP standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, repair, and troubleshooting of process equipment (electrical, pneumatic, electronic, and mechanical systems).
  • Maintain operating machines and correct malfunctions quickly to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and repair technical issues on Cadmach and Fette compression machines, and ACG and Bosch encapsulation machines.
  • Resolve issues such as weight variation, capping, sticking, picking, and double capping.
  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance and ensure timely completion.
  • Document all maintenance and repair activities in logbooks and batch records.
  • Recommend improvements to reduce costs and enhance safety.
  • Provide training and mentorship to Operators I & II.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment.
  • Support supervisors during inspections, audits, and production challenges.

Qualifications & Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical certificate or degree preferred.
  • 24 years of mechanical / maintenance experience in manufacturing (pharma preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of cGMP, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting compression and encapsulation machines.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be proficient in English (reading / writing / speaking).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work with PPE and respirators as needed.
