QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Education Required :  High School diploma or equivalent experience

Experience Required : 5 years of experience working on mechanical repairs in this field or equivalent

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. This position is in the Client’s Continuous Improvement Department and reports to the Manager CI / TPM / Facilities. The position works with all levels of employees throughout the organization as necessary, but does not direct the work of other employees. This is a full-time position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment
  • Provide emergency / unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production, and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
  • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities
  • Perform mechanic skills, including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities
  • Must possess good working knowledge of hydraulic systems, motors, and pumps, and be capable of disassembly, repair, and reassembly of major machine components
  • Must possess the knowledge to and will be required to perform building maintenance and other associated tasks
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision

This position will not direct the work of any other employees.

  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles
  • Frequent exposure to moderate to heavy noise
  • The ability to wear proper personal protective equipment, including earplugs, safety glasses, safety shoes, etc.
