Tehachapi Cement, LLC is seeking a qualified Maintenance Supervisor for a role based in Tehachapi, CA. This position will report to the Maintenance Manager and will be responsible for overseeing maintenance operations, ensuring high-quality performance from maintenance crews, and contributing to the continuous improvement of the plant’s operations.
Responsibilities :
- Team Supervision : Supervise and lead maintenance personnel, ensuring effective application of the plant’s Maintenance Improvement Program (MIP).
- Work Quality : Oversee and ensure quality work performance of maintenance crews and outside contractors.
- Breakdown Management : Manage urgent or breakdown maintenance jobs to minimize downtime and keep production running smoothly.
- Inventory Management : Evaluate and communicate anticipated jobs and provide input on store stock inventory.
- Scheduling & Prioritization : Participate in developing work schedules, equipment usage schedules, and prioritizing mechanical expenditures. Create and follow procedures for equipment and appliance maintenance.
- Project Participation : Contribute to projects by preparing material and labor estimates and supporting project implementation.
- SAP Usage : Utilize and update information in SAP as required.
- Policy Enforcement : Enforce company policies and uphold safety regulations, including MSHA and OSHA compliance.
- Equipment & Tool Management : Ensure maintenance tools and equipment are in good working condition and that appropriate stock is available.
- Staff Development : Evaluate skills, identify training needs, and provide development opportunities for assigned staff.
- Union Relations : Administer the Collective Bargaining Agreement, including participating in the disciplinary and grievance processes when required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Education & Experience : Extensive mechanical repair and maintenance experience with supervisory experience. Completion of a federally approved technical training program in mechanical repair or an AA degree in a relevant field is preferred.Industry Experience : Prior experience working with large, rotating, heavy industry machinery and equipment.Leadership : Proven ability to lead teams and manage personnel effectively, both with and without direct authority.Organizational Skills : Solid organizational skills to manage tasks and coordinate maintenance operations.Software Skills : Familiarity with SAP and Microsoft Office products (Excel and Word).Union Experience : Experience working in a unionized environment and administering the terms of a collective bargaining agreement, including active participation in the discipline and grievance procedures, is a plus.Physical Requirements : Ability to perform tasks that include walking, climbing equipment, working in confined spaces, and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.Flexibility : Willingness to provide coverage during off-shift hours and weekends as required.Technical Knowledge : Ability to read and understand engineered drawings of machines, plant, and equipment.Benefits :
