Candidates must have a full Epic healthcare operations background, experience leading a PMO, and previous success conducting client delivery and implementation. The ideal candidate will have director-level experience, navigated hospital Epic operations, and / or led a PMO into maturity.

Job Summary :

Leads and develops a team which is responsible for the creation, implementation, evolution, and management of a centralized Project Management Office within the Integrated Health Technology (IHT) department. Ensures the value and accountability of the technology component of strategic enterprise program / projects as well as key regional / operational initiatives through processes and controls governing program / project management, intake, planning and implementation, closing, and measurement to ensure business value. Facilitates strategic planning and design of IT roadmaps regarding project prioritization and implementation within the portfolio while monitoring for cross-project risks or interdependencies and initiates appropriate action to resolve any risks to project / portfolio success.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements :

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for driving technology project success through relationship management, strategic alignment, governance, and portfolio and program management.
  • Develops, establishes, maintains, and grows the IHT Project Management Office strategy, discipline, processes, toolsets, value proposition, service offerings, and enterprise collaborations.
  • Responsible for recruiting, coaching, training, mentoring, and developing direct reports to ensure high performing and highly engaged team members and that effective project management practices are applied consistently throughout the enterprise. Ensures HR policies are administered consistently across function.
  • Uses a strong understanding of Project Methodologies, processes, and tools and demonstrates superior skills in quantitative analysis and innovation to provide leadership on process improvement initiatives and large-scale Programs / Projects with a lens on technology components, IT processes, IT architecture, applications, and integrations across the organization.
  • Partners with executive leadership team, senior leaders, other business operational sponsor / leader(s) at the enterprise / regional level, and vendors to oversee the planning, governance, and successful delivery of all technology project and program components and their associated dependencies, including coordination of IT resources, timelines, and budgets, to ensure achievement of objectives, alignment to KPIs and the SSM strategic plan, and delivery of expected benefits.
  • Collaborates and adheres to the SSM governance processes and ensures all programs / projects within their portfolio have gone through designated governance approval and prioritization processes, to promote holistic visibility into the portfolio’s body of work, and to promote consistency of process throughout the organization and amongst key organizational sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Leads and collaborates in setting system-wide standards for program and project management processes, tools, and governance related activities to ensure continued improvement of these tools and practices.
  • Responsible for the tracking and reporting of overall IHT portfolio health, strategic benefit delivered, and performance metrics against goals, to provide concise and consistent visibility into specific areas of portfolio strength or opportunity.
  • Leads facilitation in planning relative to Enterprise strategic, critical operational, and innovation initiatives and works with information technology management to strategically align the portfolio to organizational goals and objectives.
  • Assumes fiscal responsibility through budgetary planning and implementation.Accountable for overall management of IHT technology project budgets and scope.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent years of experience and education
  • EXPERIENCE

  • Seven years' experience, with five years in leadership
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent lifting / carrying and pushing / pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot / leg and hand / arm movements.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent keyboard use / data entry.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
