Job Description

American Traveler seeks an experienced BSN RN with Level I trauma and OR experience for a 13-week Operating Room assignment in an acute care setting, requiring SD or compact licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a large hospital Operating Room department with 35 ORs
  • Acute care, Level I trauma environment
  • Circulate for one OR room per shift
  • Shifts are primarily 10 hours during the day, including 1 late shift per week (8 : 30-19 : 00 or 10 : 30-21 : 00)
  • Required to work every 4th weekend
  • On-call shifts required, averaging 1–4 overnight calls per week and 3–4 late / flex shifts per 4-week schedule
  • No floating to other units, but flexibility to work all OR specialties is expected
  • Charting with Epic EMR; prior experience preferred
  • Orientation to hospital and unit provided; expected to complete within one week
  • Dress code is ceil blue scrubs (provided by facility), with adherence to surgical dress code and no earrings allowed
  • Unit support and cross-training include orientation to pre-op and PACU as applicable
  • All staff must badge in and out
  • Local candidates within an 80-mile radius will be considered, with travel rates adjusted accordingly
  • Applicants with previous employment at the health system must have a termination date at least six months prior to consideration

    • Requirements

  • Active SD or compact RN license required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Minimum 3 years of recent OR RN experience
  • Level I trauma OR experience required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Ability to independently manage operating room duties
