As the first point of contact for customers, the Teller I plays a vital role in ensuring a positive customer experience by efficiently handling transactions and supporting branch operations. Success in this role is defined by accuracy, service quality, and contribution to team sales goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Accurately process deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, loan payments, and night drop transactionsVerify customer identity and transaction validity in compliance with bank policiesMaintain and balance assigned cash drawer within established limitsAssist customers with safe deposit access and respond to service inquiriesSupport branch cross-selling initiatives and promote financial products and servicesProcess stop payments, official checks, money orders, and address updatesEnsure BSA / AML compliance through accurate CTR and monetary instrument reportingMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1 year of prior teller or cash-handling experience requiredIntermediate to advanced math and 10-key skillsMinimum 25 WPM typing speed and basic computer proficiencyStrong verbal and phone communication skillsCORE TOOLS & SYSTEMS
Teller cash dispenser / recyclerCore banking platform (FIS, Jack Henry, or similar)Microsoft Office SuiteStandard point-of-sale terminalsDocument imaging and transaction processing softwarePREFERRED SKILLS
