Job Description

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI), a leading power engineering consultant firm, is seeking a motivated individual to join our San Diego or Ontario, CA office as a designer. ECI specializes in engineering services to electric utilities (substation, protection, transmission), alternative energy systems, communication, oil / gas, mining, and heavy industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing electrical and physical design work for electrical substations ranging from 12 kV to 500 kV.

Responsibilities :

• Perform substation electrical and physical design work and, when required, drafting for assigned projects.
• Support other projects as required.
• Resolve AutoCAD software operating issues.
• Establish AutoCAD environments per client requirements.

Minimum Requirements :

College degree or two-year technical certificate in computer-aided drafting / design and a minimum of 15 years of computer-aided drafting and designer experience required. The successful candidate must possess advanced computer skills and be an expert in the use, operation, and maintenance of AutoCAD. A sound operating knowledge of MicroStation is required. Proven effective verbal and written communication skills are essential. The successful candidate must be results-oriented and capable of completing design assignments with minimal direction. Must be effective in a team environment with strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to interface with team members and clients. This position requires a strong work ethic with attention to detail, quality, schedule, and budget. Occasional travel / driving may be required.
