• HNTB is seeking a visionary and collaborative Creative Team Lead to oversee a talented group of visual communicators within our Tennessee Communications Team. This role will guide creative professionals across graphic design and multimedia disciplines, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and strategic alignment with client and project needs. As a key member of our Communications Department, the Creative Team Lead will be responsible for mentoring team members, driving creative direction, and serving as a client-facing representative of our visual storytelling capabilities. • What You’ll Do :
• Responsible for leading team members and assigning daily assignments. Creates and reviews graphic designs, information graphics, user interface designs, motion graphics, and interactive web designs that ensures ease of navigation and clearly communicates abstract concepts.
• Designs and reviews a variety of multimedia projects from videos, photos, audio and clip art using software applications, techniques, and tools.
• Creates and reviews 3D models, textures, effects, materials, animates objects, characters and cameras for virtual environments and graphic design.
• Interviews clients and quickly sorts out project requirements to determine appropriate visual, textual, and animated elements of the project.
• Conceiving, creating and implementing concepts, guidelines and strategies in various creative projects and overseeing them to completion.
• Edits footage, audio and creates motion graphics for video production while working with external client or external video production agency.
• Interfaces with an interdisciplinary multimedia development staff, including close development work with content development staff as well as internal creative team for delivering high quality content.
• Lead creative collaboration sessions to generate ideas, storyboard and assign roles to project team members.
• May work on public information media campaigns and company project pursuits.
• Organizes and administrates all forms of digital photography and video.
• Makes budget recommendations for review for leadership.
• Makes internal presentations to staff and clients regarding technical data.
• Provides input on recruitment, hiring, development, and retention of staff, including developing a plan for staff reporting, performance and compensation reviews, and succession.
• Responsible for coordinating schedules and approving timecards.
• Aids in establishing employees’ objectives and provides feedback from clients while coaching and mentoring their team.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• What You’ll Need :
• Associate's degree in Visual Communications, Art, Graphic Design, or related field and 7 years of relevant experience, or
• In lieu of education 9 years of relevant experience
• What We Prefer :
• Bachelor’s degree in Visual Communications, Art, Graphic Design, or related field.
• Proven experience leading creative teams and managing diverse design projects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-focused mindset.
• Demonstrated ability to foster innovation and elevate creative standards.
• Familiarity with infrastructure, transportation, or environmental planning sectors is a plus.
