About The Position

ID : 73590493 Shift : 12H Nights 12 hr nights Description : Unit Rule : 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and / or Dignity.Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.

• Fingernail policy : Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care- refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contract
• RN's - Pass / Fail exam on Wednesdays during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated
• will not approve blocked scheduling unless it's weekends only, I can ask. They also will not take duos that want same schedule or share car.Department : ICU RN
• Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• # of Beds : 33 beds, average daily census is 16- Ratios : 1 : 2-3 for adults- Common diagnoses / Types of patients : Trauma, cardiac, overdose / substance abuse, Adults sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, respiratory distress- Are RNs required to titrate drips? : Yes- Common titratable & / or set rate drips : Any cardiac drip, insulin, sedationNurse Aides : yes- based on census, will sit in 1 : 1s or assist on the floor as needed based on volume, Healthcare Support tech 3 days per week (M-F) 0800-1630- RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot? : Nasal cannula to vent Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) : 0630-1830, 1830-0630 / / Self scheduling for core staff, travelers added in. Unable to guarantee block schedulingMonitors / Tele : yes, RNs are required to read / interpret / document strips, monitor brand is GE, tele tech oversight of monitors as wellFloating : Typically PCU, occasionally MedSurg- will take same ratio of patients typically assigned on these units (1 : 4 or 1 : 5)Holiday requirements : minimum of 2 holidays that fall within contract time frame- Weekend Requirements : Every other- How many shifts of unit / department specific orientation? : 1 shiftRTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.Updated 10 / 16 / 25 MJ Cancellation can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, 3 shifts for assignments that are less than 13 weeks Charting BSN Required : License to Trauma Level : 2 Care Shift Notes : 12 hr nights Required , BLS, NIHSS Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Contract Weeks : 91
