Job Description

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Job Specialty : Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Job Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Day 4x10-Hour (11 : 45 - 22 : 15)

Guaranteed Hours : Not specified

Experience : Minimum 2 years required

License : Compact license pending OK for submission; must be in hand at start

Certifications : ACLS, BCLS, PALS

Must-Have :

  • ICU experience
  • Skills in Phase 1-2 PACU
  • Ability to manage ICU level of care in PACU

Job Description :

  • May recover surgical patients in the ICU setting
  • Staff is based on the needs of the OR, open 24 / 7
  • Float to areas with overflow patients, typically surgical short stay
  • May be assigned to a Storm Team or Hurricane Team
  • Care for patients who have undergone surgical procedures requiring anesthesia
  • Provide observation and care for patients from OR, EP Lab, Endo, IR, MRI
  • Care for pediatric patients with varying surgical diagnoses
  • Use various equipment such as cardiac monitors, arterial lines, and wound vacs
  • Participate in a scheduled committee and individualized orientation program
  • May recover and discharge Phase II patients during nights and weekends
  • Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
  • Engage in varied and challenging practice environment

    • Additional Details :

  • Flexible work with potential to float within or to affiliate hospitals
  • Comprehensive orientation tailored to experience and skill level
  • Weekend and call requirements vary
  • RTO limited to 7 days max, and not during the first week of assignment due to orientation
  • Candidates part of travel pairs should work on different units
