Overview
Seeking a Controls Engineer to support automation and robotics initiatives within a leading automotive manufacturer. This role will define next-generation robotic cell designs and equipment standards across North America, helping drive Industry 4.0 integration and carbon neutrality (2050 goals)
Responsibilities
- Support the Equipment Planning Group with robotic and equipment standards (paint robots, delivery systems, circulation systems).
- Lead equipment installation planning, vendor coordination, and compliance with OSHA, NFPA, ISO, and NEC standards.
- Conduct site evaluations and lifecycle assessments of robotics systems.
- Contribute to Industry 4.0 and sustainability initiatives across multiple facilities.
Qualifications
Required :
Bachelor's in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent technical background).3+ years' experience in industrial robotics or automationStrong controls engineering skills and experience with bid specifications and vendor management.Familiarity with Industry 4.0 applications.Preferred :
Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier experience.Knowledge of paint booths vision systems , and robotic automationInterest in sustainable manufacturing practices.Details
Location : Georgetown, KY
Duration : 12-month contract (possibility of extension)
Travel : ~20% (U.S., occasional Canada / Mexico)
Pay : $50–$74 / hr (higher for exceptional candidates)
