The Assembly Technician is responsible for performing a variety of production functions, including constructing small parts and components to create valves and related parts according to Company specifications and required procedures while following relevant safety measures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES :
This person's job responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Assembly of valve components in accordance with Company procedures, drawings, bill of materials (BOM), and factory work order (FWO). Ensure completion and accuracy of appropriate paperwork (i.e. all information matches such as serial number and heat numbers. All information and signatures are true and correct).
- Support plant quality system goals to ensure all work performed meets quality standards.
- Notify supervisory personnel if a nonconforming condition is disclosed.
- Proper loading of completed product on appropriately sized pallet with visible tagging and attached completed paperwork.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS :
Have a minimum of a high school diploma or hold a GED certificateAt least 1 year experience with valves, valve assembly and testing building mechanical devices .At least 1 year experience with reading and interpreting assembly blueprints / drawings and bills of materials.Have at least 1 year experience using hand or power tools and mechanically inclined.Able to accomplish / complete tasks while demonstrating a thorough concern for all areas involvedAble to work in a team setting as well as individual settingAble to work under pressure and meet daily production requirementsMust have understanding and strong working knowledge of manufacturing operations.Must be able to read assembly blueprints / drawings and bills of materials.Possess strong communications (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate to all levels within an organization.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
Extended periods of standing, walking, bending, kneeling and reaching.Repetition of motions that include lifting and reaching.Occasional lifting and / or moving items up to 50 lbs.Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.WORK ENVIRONMENT :
This person is required to work in a warehouse setting with no heating / AC controls and may occasionally work outdoors for a short period of time. May be required to wear PPE such as safety glasses, safety gloves, and a hard hat. May be exposed to loud or distracting sounds or noise levels.

This position requires repetition of the same activities, therefore this person must be accurate, exact, and true in their work and meet strict deadlines on a daily basis.
