Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Associate

Location : Hybrid (California)

Compensation : $300,000 – $325,000 DOE + annual discretionary and hours-based bonuses

A highly regarded full-service law firm is seeking an experienced Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Associate to join its expanding team. This role offers the chance to work with leading clients across industries — including technology, financial services, hospitality, food and beverage, and creative services — on complex privacy, cybersecurity, and emerging technology matters, including AI.

Key Responsibilities

• Counsel clients on compliance with CCPA / CPRA, GDPR, HIPAA, GLBA, CIPA, and other state and federal privacy laws.
• Develop and implement privacy and data protection policies.
• Advise on emerging AI laws and governance standards , including drafting internal AI policies and contract provisions.
• Support privacy and cybersecurity aspects of corporate transactions, including due diligence and vendor agreements.
• Lead data breach response efforts , including regulatory notifications, investigations, and remediation strategies.
• Represent clients in privacy-related litigation, regulatory actions, and investigations.
• Monitor evolving privacy and AI regulations, provide practical guidance, and contribute to thought leadership.
• Collaborate across practice groups and mentor junior attorneys.
