Sr Cost Accountant / Analyst
Thriving manufacturer seeks a Sr Cost Accountant / Analyst with proven government contract accounting expertise. In this role, you will review and control costs related to inventory, provide financial analysis, perform product manufacturing analysis, report on daily inventory, oversee the billing process, create and implement standard costs, perform audits, manage and update cost estimates, assist with reconciling client invoicing, follow-up on collection efforts, and research and resolve invoicing or billing discrepancies. The successful Sr. Cost Accountant will have proven product cost experience, GAAP knowledge, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent time management skills.
What You Get To Do Everyday :
- Maintain and analyze standard costs for products, materials, and labor
- Perform monthly inventory reconciliations and ensure proper valuation under GAAP
- Monitor and analyze manufacturing variances, including price / material usage / labor and overhead absorption
- Support month-end close by preparing and reviewing journal entries
- Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards
- Partner with operations and supply chain to identify cost drivers, efficiencies, and areas of improvement
- Assist in inventory costs and profitability products
- Create annual standard cost updates
- Lead or participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance cost visibility and operational efficiency
Requirements :
The ideal Sr Cost Accountant / Analyst will preferably have a Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.Other requirements for the Sr Cost Accountant / Analyst role include and are not limited to :5+ years of Cost Accounting experience a MUSTDevelopment and / or refinement of cost related systems and procedures a MUSTExperience in $300M+ manufacturer companies MUSTSolid GAAP a MUSTSAP, Public Accounting, CPAStrong analytical and strategic thinking skills
