The expected base pay range for this position is between $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on location and qualifications. Additional rewards such as a discretionary bonus and / or equity awards may also be available.
About the Role :
As a Project Engineer Specialist, you will be an essential member of the project engineering team, supporting the Food and Dairy Department in delivering projects on time and within budget. Your focus will be on Spray Drying technology, ensuring profitability through efficient engineering and design while achieving high customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities :
Engage in all project phases from initial customer meetings to commissioning and start-up.Ensure design standards are met, optimizing engineering to align with customer specifications and project budgets.Identify and mitigate potential project risks proactively.Maintain accurate documentation of customer interactions and technical files.Collaborate with designers on General Arrangement and Hole and Load Drawings.Create and manage various lists including utilities and equipment tags.Specify and size necessary components such as valves and pumps.Review and approve design changes, accounting for project requirements.Coordinate logistics for shipping equipment to project sites.Support the installation phase by addressing mechanical punch-list items.Conduct I / O and mechanical checks of installed equipment.Assist in customer training during project start-ups.Complete engineering and commissioning tasks according to GEA standards and regulations.Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure deliverables meet customer needs.Provide technical support to resolve equipment and system issues.Help plan and implement procedures for testing and acceptance based on contract stipulations.Support project management in identifying changes in scope and preparing cost / schedule impact estimates.Participate in vendor evaluation and selection processes.Comply with all industry regulations and safety standards.Prepare operation and maintenance manuals as needed.Generate schedules to meet project milestones.Respond promptly to additional duties as assigned.What We Are Looking For :
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Food Technology, or a related field.2+ years of relevant engineering experience.Familiarity with US Dairy industry standards (3A, USDA) preferred.Understanding of fabrication drawings and blueprint reading is a plus.Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.At GEA, we offer not just jobs but real opportunities to grow and positively impact your career.
