Overview :
The Surgical Technologist Level II plays a crucial role in assisting medical professionals during surgical procedures. Working closely under the guidance of a Registered Nurse (RN), this position is responsible for ensuring a safe and sterile environment for patient care. You will be involved in verifying health data and closely observing patients to provide optimal care.
Key Responsibilities :
- Maintain asepsis by ensuring sterile equipment does not come into contact with unsterile items or surfaces.
- Monitor patient health changes and report findings to adapt the care plan as needed.
- Execute first and second scrub duties and prepare the surgical table for advanced procedures.
- Gather supplies and verify the functionality of equipment, ensuring everything is ready for surgery.
- Collaborate with the circulating nurse to verify patient health status and maintain accurate records.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support surgical team operations.
Qualifications : Education :
High School Diploma or equivalent.Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program through ARC / STSA or equivalent military training with surgical tech experience.Experience :
Minimum of 1 year of surgical tech experience required.Licensure / Certification :
Current BLS (CPR) certification from American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required. Note : Surgical Technologists hired before 12 / 31 / 2017 are exempt from this requirement if they maintained their CST credential as of 12 / 31 / 17 without lapse.
