Position Summary
The Memory Care Program Coordinator leads the design and delivery of engaging, purposeful programs for residents living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. This role combines leadership, creativity, and empathy to ensure each resident experiences meaningful connection, safety, and enrichment.
Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and oversee daily life-enrichment programs and special events for residents.
Train and mentor team members in dementia-specific engagement techniques.
Collaborate with nursing, dining, and therapy departments to support individualized resident plans.
Maintain accurate documentation for programming, participation, and care coordination.
Support residents and families through compassionate communication and individualized support.
Ensure compliance with all state and company standards related to dementia care programs.
Promote a positive culture of inclusion, respect, and dignity within the community.
Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy, Psychology, Gerontology, or related field preferred.
2+ years of experience leading dementia-specific activities or programs in senior living, assisted living, or memory care.
CDP (Certified Dementia Practitioner) credential preferred.
Strong communication, leadership, and organization skills.
Passion for improving quality of life for older adults and their families.
