DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this education and interpretation internship, you will immerse yourself in the world of Cornwall Iron Furnace, the most complete charcoal-fueled iron making complex in the United States. We strive to preserve it, and its history, with the highest degree of historical integrity. This is an unparalleled opportunity learn about how our museum operates and how we interpret this testament to the once great iron industry that flourished in South-Central Pennsylvania and our nation.
As our summer intern, you will work closely with the museum staff to develop new educational materials and programming related to the furnace, the iron community, and the role of the furnace during the American Revolution, as well as give historical tours of the furnace complex. Enhance the start of your career by preserving and sharing the story of this indelible piece of Pennsylvania history with our team!
