About the Role
Were looking for a dedicated and empathetic Shelter Case Manager to join our team at our emergency shelter. In this role, youll be a steady, supportive presence for residentshelping them set and achieve goals, connect to resources, and take meaningful steps toward self-sufficiency. What Youll Do
- Provide trauma-informed case management services to shelter residents, focusing on empowerment and safety.
- Conduct intake assessments and develop personalized service plans with measurable goals.
- Connect clients to community resources such as housing, employment, healthcare, and education.
- Serve as a strong advocate for clients in interactions with agencies, landlords, and service providers.
- Facilitate life skills workshops and support groups to promote independence and confidence.
- Maintain accurate, confidential case files and ensure timely documentation that meets grant requirements.
- Collaborate closely with shelter staff to maintain a supportive and safe living environment.
- Provide crisis intervention and emotional support when residents need it most.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and community outreach events.
What Were Looking For
Bachelors degree preferred, but relevant experience will be considered.Experience working with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, or other vulnerable populations preferred.Knowledge of trauma-informed care and best practices in advocacy.Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold professional boundaries.Comfortable with Microsoft Office and client database systems.Work Environment
This position is based at our emergency shelter. Some evening or weekend shifts may be required to meet client needs.
