About the Role
We are seeking a mission-driven Senior Resource Development Specialist to lead the agency’s comprehensive resource development strategy. This role builds partnerships, secures diverse resources, and strengthens community support to advance services for children and families.
The Specialist will develop long-term resource plans, cultivate donor and partner relationships, expand community support, and secure grants and contributions aligned with organizational goals and community needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a long-term resource development plan in collaboration with the CEO and Board of Directors
- Cultivate and steward relationships with individual contributors, community partners, foundations, and stakeholders
- Identify and secure resources through gifts, planned giving, corporate partnerships, and community support initiatives
- Research, write, and submit grant applications; manage the grant cycle, reporting, and data tracking
- Coordinate resource development campaigns, community engagement activities, and stewardship strategies
- Manage and track donor contributions and prospects in the resource development database
- Coordinate and support special events and agency engagement activities related to resource development
- Develop and oversee print and digital materials including newsletters, reports, donor updates, and promotional collateral
- Collaborate with contractors and partners on communications, marketing, and outreach strategies
- Use community assessment data to inform resource priorities and messaging
- Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, organizational policies, and relevant regulations
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Community Development, Public Relations, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or related field8+ years of relevant resource development experience (or equivalent combination of education / experience)Proven success in securing major gifts, planned contributions, and grant fundingStrong grant writing and project management skillsExcellent communication and relationship-building abilitiesExperience managing resource development tracking systems or donor databasesStrong prioritization and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple initiatives
