Installer Technician

What You’ll Do
- Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cabling to industry standards (BICSI, ANSI / TIA, ISO / IEC)
- Work with project managers, foremen, and customers to complete installations per scope and drawings
- Perform site surveys to evaluate cabling requirements, cable pathways, and mounting locations
- Prepare pathways (cable trays, J-hooks) and ensure clean routing of cable runs
- Rack, mount, and neatly dress network hardware, patch panels, and related equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair cabling systems to quickly restore service or resolve performance issues
- Label, document, and update records of cables, ports, and patch panels for future maintenance
- Assist with surveillance and access control equipment setup and integration when required
- Operate and maintain test equipment (Fluke DSX, OTDR, multimeters) to certify cable performance
- Follow OSHA and company safety guidelines; maintain an orderly and hazard-free work environment
- Provide clear updates to supervisors and work collaboratively with team members to keep jobs on schedule
What We’re Looking For
High school diploma or equivalent (technical certifications a plus)Proven experience in structured cabling, low-voltage, or related network infrastructure installationExperience with surveillance system and access control installation is a plusAccess control and surveillance license is a plusFamiliarity with cabling standards (BICSI, ANSI / TIA, ISO / IEC) and best practicesStrong skill in copper and fiber termination methods, splicing, and testingAbility to read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and technical schematicsHands-on experience with network test equipment (Fluke DSX, OTDR, multimeters)Analytical thinker with strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing connectivity issuesPhysically able to lift, climb, and work at heights or in confined spacesStrong communication skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a teamValid driver’s license and reliable transportationWhat We Offer
