The Office of Innovation & Technology (OIT) is the central IT agency for the City of Philadelphia headed by the Chief Information Officer (CIO). OIT oversees all major information and communications technology initiatives for the City of Philadelphia - increasing the effectiveness of the information technology infrastructure, where the services provided are advanced, optimized, and responsive to the needs of the City of Philadelphia's businesses, residents, and visitors. OIT responsibilities include : identifying the most effective approach for implementing new information technology directions throughout city government; improving the value of the city's technology assets and the return on the city's technology investments; ensuring data security continuity; planning for continuing operations in the event of disruption of information technology or communications services; and supporting accountable, efficient and effective government across every city department, board, commission and agency.
Job Description
You will :
Develop and maintain high-quality iOS applications using React Native and native iOS technologiesBuild responsive mobile interfaces that work seamlessly across various iOS devices including iPhone and iPadCollaborate with the mobile development team to establish best practices for iOS-specific developmentImplement iOS-specific features including push notifications, background app refresh, and system integrationsEnsure applications comply with Apple App Store guidelines and submission requirementsWrite clean, maintainable code following iOS development best practices and Apple's coding standardsParticipate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge with team membersWork closely with UX / UI designers to implement pixel-perfect designs optimized for iOS platformsDebug and resolve iOS-specific issues across different device sizes and iOS versionsOptimize app performance for various iOS hardware configurationsIntegrate with backend APIs and services to deliver seamless user experiencesStay current with iOS development trends, tools, and Apple's evolving platform guidelinesContribute to the continuous improvement of the mobile development process and toolchainSupport production applications and respond to critical issues as neededDevelops native iOS applications and React Native cross-platform solutionsImplements iOS-specific UI components following Human Interface GuidelinesIntegrates with iOS system frameworks and device capabilitiesOptimizes applications for performance across iPhone and iPad deviceCollaboration

Strong proficiency in React Native development with focus on iOS platform optimizationSolid understanding of iOS development fundamentals including UIKit, Core Data, and iOS frameworksExperience with Xcode, Interface Builder, and iOS development toolsKnowledge of Apple's Human Interface Guidelines and iOS design principlesProficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript and Swift / Objective-C programming languagesUnderstanding of iOS app lifecycle, memory management, and performance optimizationExperience with iOS-specific libraries and frameworks (Alamofire, Core Location, Core Animation, etc.)Familiarity with App Store Connect and iOS app submission processesStrong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex mobile applicationsExperience with version control systems, preferably GitUnderstanding of RESTful APIs and mobile app security best practicesKnowledge of automated testing frameworks for mobile applicationsExcellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environmentWhile you won't necessarily be working with these technologies every day, you should have a broad enough understanding of them to help support your team.

Salary Range : $65,000- $80,000
