Description

Job Summary : The Tennessee School for the Blind isseeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Guard to ensure the safety andsecurity of our students, staff, and campus. The ideal candidate will have astrong sense of responsibility, excellent observational skills, and acommitment to maintaining a safe environment for our visually impairedstudents.

Key Responsibilities :

Monitor and patrol the school premises, includingbuildings, grounds, and parking areas, to prevent and detect signs of intrusionand ensure the security of doors, windows, and gates.

Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances.

Provide assistance and direction to visitors, ensuringthey follow school protocols.

Maintain a visible presence to deter potential securitythreats.

Assist in emergency situations, including evacuations andmedical emergencies.

Report any suspicious activities or security breaches tothe appropriate authorities.

Conduct regular inspections of security systems,including surveillance cameras and alarm systems.

Collaborate with school staff to develop and implementsecurity policies and procedures.

Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents,and observations.

Qualifications :

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience in security or law enforcement ispreferred.

A valid armed / unarmed security license.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to remain calm and composed in stressfulsituations.

Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency responseprocedures.

Physical fitness and the ability to stand or walk forextended periods.

A valid driver\'s license and reliable transportation.

Ability to pass a background check.

Working Conditions :

The position requires working both indoors and outdoorsin various weather conditions.

May involve working some overtime and holidays.
