Experienced Income Tax Preparer - Seeking tax preparer with experience and knowledge in preparing business returns including corporation, s-corporations, and partnerships as well as individual returns containing multiple schedules including Schedule C business and Schedule F farming operations, Schedule D for gains and losses, and Schedule K-1s with multiple line-items.

Familiarity with Drake tax software a plus but not required if experienced in tax preparation on other e-filing software. Prefer long-term employment applicants to provide consistency to clients, including tax planning services. Returns are prepared from documentation dropped off by client, not while client is waiting. Be able to communicate and ask questions to client over the phone or e-mail. Meet with clients to go over completed returns and obtain signatures when desired by client. We do offer remote review and remote signing of returns by our clients. Familiarity with accounting rules and QuickBooks Online is necessary for working with our business clients and recording year-end depreciation and other closing entries. Must be comfortable with computer, 10-key, and other office related equipment. We work on tax returns year-round, however, there is a lot of flexibility in hours for the "off-season" period. We offer a small professional office environment with support staff and in-office bookkeepers who manage the bookkeeping for many clients that we also prepare returns. This oversight on bookkeeping helps facilitate a smoother tax preparation experience. Education preference may be met by experience.
