WELLNESS COORDINATOR
JOB DESCRIPTION :
Job Summary : The Wellness Coordinator is an integral part of the Fitness and Wellness team within Bethesda. Wellness Coordinators are responsible for leading multiple group fitness classes that range in variety and levels from Yoga to Water Aerobics. This includes counting, cueing, organizing choreography, and much more. Instructors will also orientate new members on the equipment and perform general receptionist duties such as answering and directing phone calls, taking messages, scheduling appointments, and keeping the wellness center tidy.
Hours of Work : Daytime hours.
Physical Demands of the Job :
1. Lift weights up to 30 pounds occasionally.
2. Keep the locker rooms and exercise area clean and tidy.
3. Able to instruct multiple classes a day.
Mental Demands of the Job :
1. Ability to cope with continual interruptions.
2. Ability to remain calm, polite, and friendly in all interactions.
3. Ability to function in an environment surrounded by people.
Responsibility : Serve as the initial contact person for members coming to group fitness classes with a positive and professional manner.
Tasks :
a. Serve as a positive, high energy fitness instructor.
b. Provide customer service at the front desk.
c. Plan and implement health promotion programs.
d. Greet and direct all members with friendliness and courtesy, insuring their comfort within the facility.
a. Answering questions and direct members to specific areas in the Wellness Center.
b. Provide information as requested clearly and as politely as possible.
c. Be aware of physician referrals and physician permission forms and place accordingly to club member’s file.
Managing / Understanding Administrative Tasks : Handling administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, maintaining member records, processing payments, and responding to inquiries or concerns from members.
Ensuring Safety and Compliance : Enforcing safety protocols, rules, and regulations within the fitness facility to create a secure and supportive environment for members and staff.
Conducting Fitness Assessments : Performing initial fitness assessments for new members to evaluate their current fitness levels, establish baseline measurements, and identify any specific needs or limitations.
Developing Fitness Programs : Designing and implementing fitness programs tailored to the needs and goals of members. This involves creating workout routines, selecting appropriate equipment and set-up, and ensuring safety standards are met.
