Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Project Engineer to join our team in the industrial construction sector, specializing in kiln services. This entry-level role is designed for recent graduates or early-career professionals eager to develop hands-on expertise in project management and construction execution. You will spend the first 6–12 months shadowing experienced Project Managers and Construction Managers, gaining exposure to full-cycle project delivery from initial planning to on-site execution and closeout. This position will build your foundational skills in a high-impact environment, preparing you for future leadership roles. Travel is required (up to 75% of time, including 1–2-week on-site projects). This position offers a dynamic blend of pre-planning, field observations, and professional growth opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Shadowing and Mentorship Phase (Months 1–12) :
- Accompany Project Managers during upfront planning, client meetings, and installation package preparation to learn cradle-to-grave project management.
- Shadow Construction Managers on job sites, observing daily reporting, crew supervision, safety protocols, and field implementation of engineering drawings.
- Participate in job-site walk-downs, parts verification (QA / QC), and client approvals to understand engineering and construction workflows.
- Assist with documentation, such as updating schedules in Microsoft Project and compiling photographs for reports.
- Hands-On Contributions (Ongoing and Increasing Post-Shadowing) :
- Support project financial tracking and internal reporting under supervision.
- Aid in risk assessments, crane selection, and site setup planning.
- Conduct basic inspections and data collection for kiln alignment, tire / roller resurfacing, and major repair projects.
- Collaborate on punch lists, end-of-job reports, and change order documentation.
- Interface with clients and internal teams to foster communication skills.
- Professional Development :
- Attend safety training sessions and daily site meetings to build a strong safety mindset.
- Engage in conflict resolution and team coordination exercises.
- Transition to independent tasks after the shadowing period.
