Program Specialist I
Our mission at the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) is to serve, protect and advance the citizens and industries in the state with quality motor vehicle related services. Performs routine (journey-level) consultative services and technical assistance work for the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV), Motor Vehicle Division (MVD). Work involves assisting with implementing and supporting MVDs metal plate and sticker program and providing consultative services and technical assistance to program staff and the public. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Knowledge of statutes, administrative rules, and agency policies related to the program area; knowledge of operations and customer service techniques. Skill in the use of a computer and applicable software; skill in customer service and providing accurate, timely information to internal and external customers; skill in multi-tasking and organizing tasks; skill in noticing details. Ability to gather, correlate, and analyze information; ability to interpret policies and procedures; ability to communicate effectively; ability to set work priorities; ability to stay focused in a dynamic, fast-paced environment; ability to collaborate with a team effectively.

Registration, Certification and / or Licensure : A valid Class C driver's license is required. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within ninety (90) days after entering Texas as a new resident. A satisfactory driving record is required for operating state or personal vehicles to conduct department business.
