Shive-Hattery's Iowa City office has an opportunity for a Construction Services Civil Engineering Summer Intern. As one of our summer interns you will perform hands-on, real-world work that will transform your classroom experience and help you envision your future career. You'll be part of a team, working for our clients on projects with our most experienced staff. You'll provide assistance on field and laboratory reports, conduct field inspections and material testing for a variety of projects. You'll get an introduction to Shive-Hattery's culture that will help you evaluate our firm as a career choice. Our group works on a wide variety of project and material types related to industrial, healthcare, education, government, and commercial buildings.

Requirements

• Student in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited engineering school
• Able to collaborate with other team members and have good interpersonal skills
• Effective oral and written communication
• Curiosity and motivation to learn through both mentorship and self-study
• Must have a valid Driver's License
