The Cash Application Specialist II, RCM (CAS) is a position that calculates and posts receipts to appropriate accounts, reconciles bank deposits and submits claims. In this role, you will report to the Billing Manager, RCM.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Sorts incoming mail daily and distributes mail accordingly
- Scans and saves checks, remits and billing documents to correct locations
- Posts all payments within 24-48 hours of receipt
- Logs in to Zirmed and all portals to obtain payment information
- Reconciles bank deposits daily and as required for position
- Processes claims / invoice submissions from EMR and submit to appropriate system as required by payer
- Monitors held billing and coordinates resolution(s) of all issues
- Researches, resolves, and prepares claims that have not passed the payer edits daily
- Changes payer and rebills in EMR as applicable
- Submits waiver requests as needed
- Clears payment variances, resolving differences, and initiating corrective action
- Changes payers during payment processing by identifying correct payer
- Monitors held billing and resolves issues to ensure billing is completed timely
- Enrolls with payers for EFT / ERA submissions
- Ensures the coordination of claim activities and designated agencies, and the timely reimbursement of receivables
- Reviews and bills all secondary and tertiary insurances to correct charges, bill forms and supporting documentation (EOBs)
- Identifies system / payer issues such as rates, codes, and setup and coordinates accordingly
- Works with branches / divisions for all questions on accounts
- Understands and follows the Compliance Plan
- Maintains strict confidentiality of company and patient (PHI) information at all times
- Meets all deadlines as assigned

- Keeps up to date with insurance changes as assigned by direct supervisor
- Performs other duties as assigned
