DUTIES :

Registered Nurse Emergency Room

To assess, plan, implement the nursing care to meet the patients' needs, by following the appropriate policy and procedures of the

assigned department.

Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely and in a timely manner in the appropriated format and on

appropriate paper forms, if necessary. Nursing care documentation includes : patient history, assessment, conditions, treatments,

response to treatments, pain management, assessment of changes and notification of and response by appropriate clinicians.

Performs a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent and

geriatric patients and the general patient population.

Proficient in Emergency Nursing standards of care for all systems and patient populations.

Provides direct patient care, evaluates

outcomes, consults with providers or clinicians as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient

care.

Ability to monitor hemodynamic status of patient and correctly interpret the results.

Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac monitoring,

Participates in active triage system based on the philosophy that client care begins as soon as the client enter the Emergency

Department doors and does not end until disposition and / or discharge has been finalized.

Demonstrates knowledge of Emergency Department equipment and supplies, and performs all procedures and techniques correctly.

identifies dysrhythmias and treats appropriately including notification to appropriate clinicians.
