Activities Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Activities Assistant to join our team at Montcare Bethesda in Bethesda, Maryland! As an Activities Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating engaging and meaningful experiences for our patients. You will assist in planning and implementing activities that promote socialization, recreation, and wellness, while also providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement a variety of activities, including arts and crafts, games, exercise programs, and social events, to meet the diverse needs and interests of patients

• Collaborate with the Recreation Therapy department to develop and implement therapeutic recreation programs

• Assist with scheduling, planning, and execution of activities to ensure a seamless experience for patients

• Provide one-on-one and group activities to patients, incorporating their preferences and abilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with patients, families, and caregivers to ensure a positive experience

• Maintain accurate records of activities, including attendance, participation, and feedback

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure continuous improvement and excellence in care

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in recreation therapy, occupational therapy, or a related field preferred

• 0 years of experience in activities or therapy preferred

• Ability to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Compassion, empathy, and a willingness to adapt to the needs of patients
