Schedule and Compensation
This exempt position requires 40 hours per week (Monday–Friday) and may involve occasional evening and weekend work to support a 24 / 7 operation focused on staff well‑being and timely HR issue resolution outside regular hours.
Annual salary : $96,491.20 (DOE)
Location : 434 Harrison Ave., Boston, MA
Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Human Resources, the Director of Employee Engagement will lead Pine Street Inn’s employee relations efforts to enhance the performance of PSI’s human capital. Key responsibilities include :
Advance programs and administrative departments’ performance through aligning strong employee relations support, thereby advancing the work of programs to meet organizational and program / department goals.
Provide pivotal support for all PSI staff—especially front‑line staff—by promptly addressing workplace issues to ensure smooth operations.
Advise and advance the adoption and use of PSI’s Performance Management System, ensuring its structure aligns with PSI’s organizational strategy and annual goals.
Education and Training
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field (required).
Human Resources professional certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP) (required).
Preferred : Master’s degree in human resources or business administration, advanced training in psychology, sociology, or human services, and a senior professional HR or leadership certification.
Experience & Skills
Minimum of ten years of progressively responsible HR employee relations or generalist experience (or equivalent).
Superior interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Experience supporting a human / social service, academic department, or business unit.
Demonstrated experience in employee relations / engagement and partnership work.
Proven ability to build strong partnerships with managers at all levels to deliver expert HR guidance.
Preferred : Experience in HR departments supporting programs for the homeless or individuals with complex disabilities; experience in change management or organizational evolution.
