Description :
This facility is a brand new site scheduled to open soon.
It is designed as a hybrid Emergency Room and Urgent Care facility.
The facility includes 8 rooms, featuring 1 trauma / resuscitation room, a designated triage room, and 6 hall chairs.
The expected patient volume is around 90-100 patients per day.
The patient mix will be approximately 60% Urgent Care level patients and 40% Emergency level patients.
The facility is part of a larger hospital system.
The ER has a total of 8 beds, including a trauma room and 6 hall chairs.
There is a separate Triage area, and travelers are required to complete Triage duties.
Patients are held only for a couple of hours due to the small number of beds available.
There is 24 / 7 in-house security for added safety.
The anticipated patient-to-nurse ratios are 3 : 1 for Emergency patients and vary for Urgent Care patients.
Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, and NIH.
The diagnoses and types of patients seen in the facility will be varied.
Registered Nurses will work alongside Emergency Physicians and Mid-Levels.
There is a Charge Nurse on duty for leadership support.
The team consists of RN and LPN staff, with nurse aides and paramedics available.
The facility utilizes the EPIC charting system.
Respiratory therapy is available with equipment such as ventilators, CPAP, and BiPAP.
There is telemetry on the unit, with RNs trained to read strips.
X-Ray and CT services are available within the facility.
Nurses are responsible for collecting blood samples.
Shifts include a range of hours, with expectations for weekend and holiday rotations.
There is no call or standby requirement.
Scrub colors are flexible, allowing any color scrubs.
