Spring-Ford Area School District - District Office Staff Accountant for Spring-Ford Area School District
Position Summary : An integral part of the accounting and finance team, this position will contribute to the overall structure of the department and the processes to which the department will adhere.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Oversee accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), medical access (MA) and payroll (PR) processes
- Review and approve invoices for billing (AR)
- Maintain SchoolPay and train staff (AR)
- Audit accounts payable and accounts receivable documentation (AP / AR) o Reconcile vendor statements (AP)
- Validate new vendors (AP)
- Process 1099s (AP)
- Maintain Time & Attendance system (PR)
- Prepare and maintain PSERS reporting (PR)
- Audit payroll, maintain master files and control totals (PR)
- Review W-2 processing (PR)
- Prepare reports for GASB, monthly and quarterly payroll reporting, and tax payments (PR)
- Responsible for all aspects of coordinating the school-based ACCESS program (MA)
- Responsible for Medicaid reporting (MA)
- Reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Prepare and enter journal entries and requisitions as directed.
- Monitor group email boxes.
- Responsible for fulfilling day-to-day backup operations in all areas.
- Performs other such duties as required and / or assigned by the Controller and / or Chief Financial Officer.
Educational Level :
Bachelor's degree in accounting / finance or related field or a minimum of (3) three years in relevant experience.Knowledge, Skills, and Other Required Abilities

Compensation : $24.00-$27.00 / hour based on experience plus a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision and prescription insurance, as well as paid holidays, paid time off and a tuition reimbursement program.
