Overview :
We are seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with a strong background in financial services. This is a critical role on a small, high-impact team supporting investment management operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Core Analysis & Mapping : Conduct comprehensive data analysis, validation, and mapping, including data conversion and system requirements analysis at both the code and data levels.
- Manage Requirements & Documentation : Gather, document, and translate business and system requirements into actionable specifications.
- Optimize Workflows : Understand and analyze complex business workflows to identify problems and opportunities, particularly in the context of reporting requirements.
- Ensure Data Quality : Document all incident findings to contribute to the central data quality knowledge base.
- Provide Project Leadership : Manage project tasks, communicate status updates clearly to stakeholders, and conduct effective meetings to foster technology dialogue with business users.
- Drive Strategic Improvements : Think strategically to implement and improve cross-team workflows, leveraging expertise in Business Process Management (BPM) tools.
- Uphold Standards : Adhere to internal Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methods and research, test, and track business issues and software defects.
Essential Qualifications
Experience : 7-10+ years as an IT Business Systems Analyst, preferably within the Financial Services industry.Data Expertise : Extensive experience in data analysis and mapping, coupled with Advanced proficiency in SQL (Microsoft SQL Server).Financial Acumen : In-depth understanding of cash flow workflows and related financial processes.Technical & Methodology : Deep understanding of system development methodologies and techniques, with a strong grasp of database concepts and principles.Vendor Management : Proven experience in managing and dealing with software vendors.Tool Proficiency : Expert-level skills in Visio and MS Office applications.Preferred Advantage : Direct experience with BNY accounting system implementation.
