Job Description

The Life Enrichment Manager role described includes responsibilities for consistently engaging residents in familiar routines of daily living through personalized Life Skills that create pleasant days. The Life Enrichment Manager designs Life Skills to reflect each resident's past interests and provides encouragement, prompts, and hands-on assistance. It includes demonstrating Sunrise's mission and adhering to applicable laws, standards, and Sunrise policies to promote quality care and services.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Essential Duties

  • Life Skills Program : Evaluate resident's interest and involvement in Life Skills; develop Life Skills tailored to each resident's needs; engage residents throughout the day and evening; ensure daily engagement for all residents; review resident profiles and ISPs to determine best Life Skill; implement, lead and motivate others in Life Skills in partnership with the Reminiscence Coordinator; organize small groups or clubs; ensure Life Skill is included on ISP sections; act as a role model to engage others; assist residents to Life Skills stations; record participation; maintain Life Skills stations and supplies; assist with animal / plant care as part of Life Skills.
  • Resident Focus : Review logs and documentation; ensure personalized Life Skill reflects past interests and current abilities; practice positive resident relations and respond to requests; assist RC to complete Memory Box; protect resident confidentiality.
  • Volunteer and Community Focus : Assist with community volunteer programs; participate in volunteer orientations and trainings.
  • Dining Service : Serve meals and assist residents with Life Skills in dining room tasks.
  • Risk Management and Safety : Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations; use PPE and follow safety procedures; report accidents / incidents and hazards; keep exits accessible and comply with fire codes.
  • Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance : Understand QSR process and ensure compliance with laws and Sunrise standards; maintain cleanliness, hygiene and proper attire.
  • Training and Team Success : Work as part of the team; contribute to engagement programs; attend meetings; maintain required trainings; perform other duties as assigned.
  • Core Competencies : Prioritize effectively; strong communication; organizational and time management; sound judgment and problem solving; ability to work with minimal supervision; follow-through on tasks.
  • Experience and Qualifications : One year experience with memory-impaired seniors; high school diploma / GED; ability to lead Life Enrichment components; adapt Life Skills to cognitive / functional abilities; ability to motivate volunteers and team members; computer skills; driving requirements if applicable.
