The USON Practice Management Source to Pay Controller is responsible for overseeing the accounting control environment for the US Oncology Network (USON) related to the wing-to-wing source to pay(S2P) process. The selected candidate will play a critical role in developing and implementing strategies, policies, and controls to manage financial statement risks-including end-to-end process (upstream & downstream) and data risks-to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Process Optimization & Transformation

  • Lead network-wide process improvement initiatives to drive efficiency, standardization, and automation in Sourcing, Accounts Payable, Cash Disbursements, and Treasury.
  • Champion transformation projects that leverage technology and data analytics to streamline processes and enhance control effectiveness.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing best practices across the network.

Strategic Control Environment Leadership

  • Design and implement a robust control environment for S2P across USON, ensuring alignment with McKesson’s enterprise risk management and internal control standards.
  • Develop and maintain governance frameworks that address financial statement risks, process integrity, and data accuracy.
  • Continuously assess and enhance controls to adapt to evolving business, regulatory, and technology landscapes.
  • Risk Management & Compliance

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial, operational, and data risks , including upstream and downstream process risks.
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), PCAOB, COSO, and US GAAP requirements, and support internal and external audit activities.
  • Monitor and report on control effectiveness , ensuring timely remediation of deficiencies and proactive risk mitigation.
  • Practice Engagement & Support

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for Accounts Payable and Cash Disbursement issues, providing expert guidance and resolution support to practices.
  • Support onboarding of new practices by integrating S2P processes into the USON control environment.
  • Manage practice disaffiliations to ensure proper separation and risk mitigation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence

  • Partner with Accounts Payable, Practice Controllers, Network Accounting, USON Operations, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of operational and accounting objectives.
  • Educate and influence stakeholders on the importance of data integrity, control compliance, and risk management.
  • Facilitate cross-functional teams to drive accountability and shared ownership of outcomes.
  • Leadership, Communication & Change Management

  • Present control environment status, risks, and transformation progress to senior and executive leadership.
  • Lead and mentor cross-functional teams (often without direct authority), fostering collaboration and high performance.
  • Drive change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of new processes, controls, and technologies.
  • Data Stewardship & Analytics

  • Oversee the integrity and accuracy of data used in financial reporting and operational decision-making.
  • Leverage data analytics to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process and control improvements.
  • Promote data-driven decision-making and educate stakeholders on the value of high-quality data.
  • Minimum Requirement

    Degree and typically requires 10+ years of relevant experience. Less years required if has relevant Master’s or Doctorate qualifications.

    Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Advanced degree in accounting or finance preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Critical Skills

  • 10+ years of accounting and reporting experience. Less years required if has relevant Master’s qualifications.
  • Direct experience leading change and business / process transformation in a large complex public company.
  • Effective communication skills including ability to present to Senior / Executive Leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong partnerships with facets of the organization to develop and execute plans, leveraging various teams across the organization.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and internal control environments.
  • Additional Skills

  • Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to engage and influence technical teams, business leaders, and external partners.
  • Strategic thinker with a strong analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven record of overseeing a portfolio of multiple projects and experience leading large scale transformation programs.
  • Comfortable with change, especially that which arises through transformation.
  • Positive and flexible attitude to enable adjusting to different needs in an ever-changing environment.
  • Strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills; comfortable managing trade-offs.
  • Ability to lead others without direct authority.
  • Strong knowledge of SOX regulations and requirements, PCAOB Standards, COSO guidelines, and US GAAP, accounting policies and auditing standards.
  • Highly influential and ability to educate stakeholders on the role of data and its purpose in the business.
  • Teams up and collaborates for speed, agility, delivery excellence and innovation.
  • Strong negotiation and decision-making skills.
  • Salary : 126,000.00 - 168,000.00 - 210,000.00 USD Annual (20% MIP)

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.     $126,000 - $210,000
