Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to completion of the tenth grade, completion of an acceptable apprentice program in maintenance and repair work, and one year of successful journey-level experience in related maintenance and repair work.
Certificates, Licenses, and Other Requirements
Necessary Special Requirements : The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, driving record check, and a medical examination prior to appointment.

Physical Requirements
Ability to input, access, and retrieve information from a computer; lift up to 25 lbs without assistance and 25–50 lbs with / without assistance; operate and move vehicles and equipment; stand, stoop, bend, stretch, walk, climb, sit, kneel, crouch, reach, crawl, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions; work in adverse weather and temperatures; reach tight spaces; perform tasks on uneven construction sites; have visual acuity to review plans and documents; manual dexterity to operate tools and equipment. Work may involve environments with raw waste; duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
Working Environment and Schedule
Solid Waste Division operates seven days per week with early and late shifts and alternate schedules. Overtime, weekend, and holiday work is required. This position is designated as Essential Emergency Services Personnel.
Selection Procedure
Panel interview and may include an exercise.
