Wireless Network Administrator

Position's Contributions to Work Group :

• Role will focus on wireless network validation testing for autonomous and remote-control applications. Technologies could range from Wi-Fi to both private LTE & private 5G cellular. Dynamic day-to-day role could have you working on multiple technologies based on demand
• This group works primarily at a test track where we do outdoor wireless drive testing in pickup trucks. It's a mix of office and outdoor testing and working with wireless OEM's to test and tune their products to meet our application needs. We also support some of our end customers to help troubleshoot issues as needed.

Job Responsibilities :

• Adjust network sizes to meet volume or capacity demands.
• Communicate with customers, sales staff, or marketing staff to determine customer needs.
• Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs or upgrades.
• Design, build, or operate equipment configuration prototypes, including network hardware, software, servers, or server operation systems.
• Determine specific network hardware or software requirements such as platforms, interfaces, bandwidths, or routine schemas.
• Develop and implement solutions for network problems.
• Develop conceptual, logical or physical network designs.
• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
• Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
• Knowledge of computer hardware as it relates to data storage.
• Knowledge of computer software, such as configuration management software, desktop communications software, operating system software and internet directory services software.

Other Experience :

3-5 years of route / switch core network experience

Cisco Wireless Lan Controller experience desired

Should have a good understanding of Wireshark and packet capture analysis

Should understand Radio Frequency (RF) spectrum

Configuration and troubleshooting of outdoor wireless experience desired (deeper experience than cellular drive testing)

Mechanical capability is desired (installing outdoor access points on solar trailers, working with tools, etc.)

Linux experience is nice to have

Experience with autonomous or remote-control system is a plus

• Degree requirement : High School Diploma or GED Required. Will accept a Master's degree.

• Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00 / hr.
